I made this chess board with my dad with tiles got on a 2019 trip to Mexico City. The tiles sat in the basement of my childhood house for about 2 years before I binged The Queens Gambit and suddenly felt the urge to make this thing and learn chess. I never really got to the learning chess part — but I did learn how to wood burn and stain! I would probably consider this chess board my favorite possession.
